Meet Birdie!

Hello again, friends and fans. This week I'm interviewing a friend of mine, all around great cat, Birdie! Birdie is 6 years old grey tabby and white domestic medium hair . She's been at NAHS since June 2009 and could really use a great home. I hope you enjoy listening in on our chat!
So, Birdie, how did you come to stay at NAHS?
Hi there, darling. I've been here for so long, I almost forgot what it was like to be in a real home. But there was a time when I had a family and a home to call my own, and it was marvelous! I thought I would always stay there, but then my family fell on some tough times, and when push came to shove, they just couldn't afford to keep me in the manner I had become accustomed to. So they knew if they brought me here to NAHS I would be able to find a charming new family that would spoil me just as much as they used to!
It sounds like you had a great family, and it's too bad they couldn't afford to keep you anymore. What kind of family would you like now?
Oh, I'm not too picky. I can be shy around new people, and I may not be outgoing enough for small children. I do hope my family will be neat and tidy like myself. I prefer a clean litterbox, and positively insist my new family cleans my box daily! Other than that, I think I could get along with just about anybody!
What else can you tell us about yourself, Birdie?
Oh, I'm just your typical lady. I need to get a lot of beauty rest and enjoy regular manicures (did you know the ladies here at NAHS will do that for free, my entire life, just to help out my new family?!). I don't enjoy thunderstorms, so I'm hoping I'll find a new family that will comfort me now that rainy season is starting. I'm a pretty low key girl but I'm sure I can charm the socks off just about anyone. I sure do hope now lots of people will come and meet me!
